Scope: CMF will replace RMF
Effective Date: 07/01/2016
Group Name: Users of RMF
Affected Locations: Americas
Summary: The BMC Comprehensive Management Facility (CMF) product will replace the IBM Resource Measurement Facility (RMF) product by 12/31/2016 on all CPU’s where Hewlett Packard Enterprise holds the license.
Justification: The expected cost savings from this change are already reflected in FY17 rates.
Benefits to Users: Reduced costs for HPE which are already reflected in 2017 Managed Mainframe Services rates.
Details: CMF will be loaded on applicable Complexes (LPARs) during on upcoming maintenance window.
Within 30 days (or so) of the initial load, a Change Record will be scheduled to coordinate the shutdown of RMF and starting of CMF. Review future Change Control reports for more information.
There will not be any impact to the creation of SMF records used for reporting purposes. SMF records created by CMF are equivalent to those created by RMF.
RMF users can access CMF one of two ways:
TSO %CMFMON or TSO %MAINVIEW and selecting option Z, then 3. When prompted for the Subsystem ID, enter MVCS.
