Scope:
The JAVA version 7.1.0 product also known as 31BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA and 64BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA 0 will be rolled out to all supported mainframe environments. The plan is to get all systems to a current supported version. There are systems that are currently using very old version of the JAVA and they need to be upgraded a current supported version.
For any systems that do not currently have a JAVA release installed, they will get 31BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA version 7.1.0. The 64Bit will only be installed on those sites that currently have and version of the 64Bit product.

Affected Locations: All mainframe systems.
Summary: Install current version of SDK for z/OS JAVA
Justification: Notify users of 31BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA and 64BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA version 7.1.0 of potential impact of planned maintenance.
Benefits to Users: Upgrades includes corrections to known security vulnerabilities with JAVA and to ensure the mainframe JAVA environment is certified as a fully compliant Java product.

Upgrade the current version JAVA to version 7.1.0 that may have potential impact to users of this version of JAVA. A summary of changes and full description of all changes and enhancements can be found on the system in the following datasets:
SYSREAD.JAVA31.V700.IMPACT
SYSREAD.JAVA31.V710.IMPACT
SYSREAD.JAVA64.V700.IMPACT
SYSREAD.JAVA64.V710.IMPACT
For sites that have the older version 5 or Version 6, they will be upgraded directly to version 7.1.0. So the intermediate IMPACT files should be reviewed
