Scope: The JAVA version 7.1.0 product also known as 31BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA and 64BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA 0 will be rolled out to all supported mainframe environments. The plan is to get all systems to a current supported version. There are systems that are currently using very old version of the JAVA and they need to be upgraded a current supported version. For any systems that do not currently have a JAVA release installed, they will get 31BIT SDK FOR Z/OS JAVA version 7.1.0. The 64Bit will only be installed on those sites that currently have and version of the 64Bit product.

Benefits to Users: Upgrades includes corrections to known security vulnerabilities with JAVA and to ensure the mainframe JAVA environment is certified as a fully compliant Java product.
Details: Upgrade the current version JAVA to version 7.1.0 that may have potential impact to users of this version of JAVA. For sites that have the older version 5 or Version 6, they will be upgraded directly to version 7.1.0. So the intermediate IMPACT files should be reviewed
