Scope:
The CA-Sysview software will be upgraded to version 13.7. The software is a performance
monitoring and management tool used primarily by operators, systems programmers,
performance analysts, and other support teams to monitor and manage the following
resources:
- z/OS
- JES2
- CICS
- IMS
- CA Datacom/DB
- TCP/IP
- WebSphere MQ
Effective Date:
The rollout is being scheduled with Service Center RFCs and will occur within the MVS
Maintenance Windows.
Group Names:
National MVS Software Support Team
Affected Locations:
All HP mainframe systems supported by the National MVS Software Support Team currently
running CA-SYSVIEW.
Summary:
The CA-Sysview software will be upgraded to 13.7 on all HP mainframe systems supported
by the National MVS Software Support Team.
Justification:
The upgrade maintains a current level of software supported by the vendor.

Details:
CA-Sysview is used to monitor and automate system functions.
This release of CA-Sysview introduces the CA Chorus Infrastructure Management for
Networks and Systems role, an interactive diagnostic and problem resolution tool that
simplifies management of system and network performance.
System configuration options can now be set in a system parmlib member used during the
initialization of CA-Sysview.
CA-Sysview administration features have been enhanced to include new subtasks for IMS
Time Series Facility data collection, WebSphere MQ Time Series Facility data collection,
z/OS Time Series Facility data collection, CICS Time Series Facility data collection,
and CA-Chorus Time Series Facility logger.
New control statements and )IF expression operators have been added to allow including
data from other members and data sets, conditional inclusion or exclusion, and
substitution of system and user-defined symbolic variables.
The parameter library has been enhanced to include a new MESSAGES member used to control
or alter the default processing of a CA-Sysview generated message.
CA-SYSVIEW data collection and commands for CICS, IMS, WebSphere MQ and TCP/IP have also been enhanced.
