Scope: CA-Dispatch Users and Administrators on the complexes listed in the Affected Locations section below.
Effective Date: For each complex, an RFC will be created in Service Center supporting the change. The effective date for each complex will be the Scheduled Implementation Date detailed in the complex's RFC for the CA-Dispatch Upgrade.
Group Name: US Mainframe - MVS
Affected Locations: DYIPC1A, DYIPC1B, DYIPC1C, PLIPC3E, IPSYSA, IPTEST1, TRDNN1A
Summary: Upgrade CA-Dispatch 11.0 to CA-Dispatch 11.7
Justification: To upgrade to a current level of supported software by Computer Associates. CA-Dispatch Version 11.0 end of support was in January 31, 2013.
Benefits to Users: The upgrade to CA-Dispatch 11.7 will provide customers with a version supported by the vendor.
Details: The process of upgrading from release 11.0 to release 11.7 is much different than an upgrade from 5.1 or 6.0 to 11.0 because there is no DATABASE or LDS conversion done for an 11.0 to 11.7 upgrade. There are three KEY ASPECTS to the 11.0 to 11.7 upgrade.
KEY ASPECTS: 1. Acquiring a new set of 11.7 libraries. 2. Getting the new 11.7 loadlib (CADSLOAD) updated with all of the appropriate IDMS SIZE, SECURITY, OPTIONAL interface and user specific modules. 3. Getting all of the 11.7 JCL and PROC's in place with the JCL updates necessary to actually EXECUTE the 11.7 versions of batch and online processes.
With this release there will be library changes. The current CAILIB is being replaced with the CADSLOAD. In addition to that the PPOPTION dataset is being replaced with two libraries CADSJCL and CADSOPTN. Some members that were previously contained in PPOPTION have been moved to CADSJCL. If user JCL exists that references either CAILIB and/or PPOPTION, changes to the new naming conventions will have to be made after the upgrade.
