Scope: The CA TRITUNE and APC for TRITUNE software will be replaced by a new product from CA called Mainframe Application Tuner version 8.5 (CA MAT). The main change is merging the APC for TRITUNE and TRITUNE products into a single product. The software is used by the application support teams as a performance monitoring tool to identify delays in application code.
Effective Date: The rollout is being scheduled with Service Center RFCs and will occur within the MVS Maintenance Windows.

Summary: The CA MAT software version 8.5.00 will be installed on all HP mainframe systems supported by the National MVS Software Support Team currently running the TRITUNE software.
Justification: The upgrade maintains a current level of software supported by the vendor and is required as a pre-reg for the CICS upgrade to TS42.
Benefits to Users: Maintains software currency.
Details: CA Mainframe Application Tuner is used by some client support teams to monitor application performance.

-The primary changes are merging the two products together as a single product and changing the copyright notices and product names in all the various parts of the product. -The client menus have been converted to point-and-shoot technology -CA Mainframe Application Tuner requires a TSO region size of at least 4 MB. -To invoke the CA MAT product enter: TSO MATUNER. (TRITUNE was used to invoke the TRITUNE product.) To invoke the PMA product use TSO PMA. (APC was the name of the equivalent product now known as PMA.) -Due to the SERVER name changing, users will have to change the server name in their CA MAT Profile: On the main screen select OPTION 0 (zero)
0 Parameters - Enter user-specific parameters On the Profile Parameters screen change the value of the Server ID field to MATUNER. Example: CA MAT Server ID ===> MATUNER
-The first time each user invokes CA Mainframe Application Tuner, the User Information File Allocation panel is displayed. Users may have the CA MAT product migrate their User Information File from the TRITUNE V4.2 format to the CA MAT v8.5 format.
-Changes to Data Set Names: SYS2.TRITUNE.** library names are changing to SYS2.CAMAPTUN.** SYS3.TRITUNE.** library names are changing to SYS3.CAMAPTUN.** SYS3.APC.** library names are changing to VSYS3.CAMAPTUN.PMA.**
