Scope: SOftware products FDR, CA-Spool and IBM Debug Tool for z/OS will be removed from CLIPC1P - TOPS Effective Date: 09/09/12 Group Name: National MVS Software Support team. Affected Locations: CLIPC1P - TOPS
Summary: The 3 products of FDR, CA-Spool and IBM Debug Tool for z/OS were reviewed during the preparation steps of the z/OS 1.13 upgrade. This review along with Soft Audit reporting shows that these products are no longer in use on CLIPC1P and will be removed to avoid future impact with these products.
Justification: The 3 products of FDR, CA-Spool and IBM Debug Tool for z/OS are no longer being used on CLIPC1P - TOPS and will be removed to avoid future support and cost impact with these products.
Benefits to Users: Cost avoidence
Details: Over the past year, products were reviewed for impact with the z/OS 1.13 upgrade. Several productions were found to be carry over products from the AHOLD to HP migration. The products of FDR, CA-Spool and IBM Debug Tool for z/OS were found in Soft Audit reporting to have zero usage for more than 12 months. These product are being removed from the CLIPC1P systems.
FDR is installed in SYS2.DEVX.FDR.LOADLIB and SYS2.PRDX.FDR.LOADLIB. These libraries will be eliminiated via RFC 100-03-1026155.
CA-SPool is installed in the following libraries that will be eliminiated via RFC 100-03-1026160. SYS2.DEV1.CASPOOL.SESFLNK SYS2.DEV1.CASPOOL.V11R2.CAILIB SYS2.PRDX.CASPOOL.SESFLNK SYS2.PRDX.CASPOOL.V11R2.CAILIB SYS2.CASPOOL.IMAGELIB SYS2.CASPOOL.SASC.RUNTIME
IBM Debug Tool for z/OS is installed in the following libaries that will be eliminiated via RFC 100-03-1026163: EQAW.SEQAAUTH EQAW.SEQABMOD EQAW.SEQAEXEC EQAW.SEQALPA EQAW.SEQAMENP EQAW.SEQAMENU EQAW.SEQAMOD EQAW.SEQAPENP EQAW.SEQAPENU EQAW.SEQASAMP EQAW.SEQASENP EQAW.SEQASENU EQAW.SEQATLIB
All mentioned libraries will be remove from the APF and linklist if found present. LIbaries are not actively used or referenced.
