Scope: All HP mainframe systems supported by the National MVS SOFTWARE support team.
Effective Date: 08/01/2012 Group Name: National MVS SOFTWARE support team
Affected Locations: All sites running CA-View, CA-Deliver, and/or CA-DRAS
Summary: All sites will be upgraded to CA-View V11.7, CA-Deliver V11.7, and CA-DRAS
Justification: To maintain current vendor supported software levels and to take advantage of new features and enhancements.
Benefits to Users: The new features documented by the vendor are: CA-View V11.7 1. Higher User Threshold under XMS and DRAS 2. REGDAYS - Retaining Reports Based on Regulatory Requirements 3. Enhanced MAXLINES Parameter 4. Improved STATUS Command 5. CA-View / CA-Deliver / CA-DRAS interdependency
CA-Deliver V11.7 1. CA OPS/MVS System State Manager 2. CA Deliver Health Checks 3. Higher User Threshold under XMS 4. Report Selection by Class and Dest 5. CA-View / CA-Deliver / CA-DRAS interdependency
CA-DRAS V11.7 1. Compatibility with CA-View V11.7 and CA-Dispatch V11.7
CA-DRAS is now packaged with the individual Output Management repository systems – CA-View and CA-Dispatch. CA-DRAS will only be upgraded where is it in use by CA-View or CA-Dispatch. That is, if CA-DRAS is used for CA-View, CA-DRAS and CA-View will be upgraded on that system at the same time. If CA-DRAS is used for CA-Dispatch, CA-DRAS and CA-Dispatch will be upgraded on that system at the same time. CA-Deliver, where installed, will be upgraded at the same time as CA-View to ensure both products will interface seamlessly.
Details: Each system will receive the upgrade in line with normal change control procedures.
