Scope: All CA InterTest for CICS and CA SymDump for CICS Users
Effective Date: Immediately
Group Name: Software Services Mainframe CICS
Affected Locations: All Sites

Summary: CA InterTest / SymDump for CICS v10.0 AB00 is being implemented.

Justification: To maintain current software levels. Please note the vendor, Computer Associates, will end support for CA InterTest/SymDump v9.1 on Mar 31, 2018.

Details: CA InterTest/SymDump v9.1 will be upgraded to CA InterTest / SymDump for CICS v10.0.
The products are being installed together, as CA packaged the products together starting V10.0.

CA-Common Debug Component needs to be Installed, as a pre-req for CA InterTest / SymDump for CICS v10.0.

No User action is required, current 9.1 ALIAS names are carried forward to V10.0.

The current CA InterTest/SymDump v9.1 dataset alias names are:

CA InterTest for CICS:
CICS.INTERTST.CABALOAD
CICS.INTERTST.CAVHLOAD

CA SymDump for CICS:
CICS.SYMDUMP.CABALOAD
CICS.SYMDUMP.CAVHLOAD

Future expected changes:

Consolidate and Replace the above 4 ALIAS’s to below.

Intertest/Symdump Complexes
CICS.INTERTST.CAVHLOAD

Symdump Only Complexes
CICS.SYMDUMP.CAVHLOAD

CA InterTest for CICS users will not be required to make any changes.

CA SymDump for CICS users will need to change the name of the SymDump dump print program from
IN25PDMP to IN67PDMP (for use with CICS TS4.2) or
IN69PDMP (for use with CICS TS 5.2).
