Affected Locations: All

Summary: DB2 V10 NFM Invalid Timestamp warning.

Justification: Avoid application issues when migrating to DB2 V10 NFM.

Benefits to Users: Mitigate any application issues prior to migrating to DB2 V10 NFM.

Details: IBM has recently notified the user community of a previously undocumented loophole that has been closed when migrating to DB2 V10 New Function Mode (NFM). In previous releases, DB2 TIMESTAMP format data was allowed to have colons (:) in the hh:mm:ss fields. This was never intended to be allowed or was documented. In V10 New Function Mode, the format is strictly being enforced to only allowing periods (hh.mm.ss).
Customers should investigate if they are using the older unsupported format and change it to the valid format which includes periods only.
An example of the bad format is: 2012-05-24-10:29:11.519796
An example of the acceptable format is: 2012-05-24-10.29.11.519796
