Summary: Upgrade to DB2 V9 New Function Mode
Justification: Upgrade to stay on supported software.
Benefits to Users: To have available the newer functions of DB2 V9, stability, and supportability
Details: The following DB2 subsystems have been upgraded from DB2 V8 New Function mode to DB2 V9 Conversion Mode:
Complex A -
DSN1(D11G & D12G) on 12/10/2010
DSN2 on 2/12/2011
DSN4 on 3/5/2011
DSN5 on 3/26/2011
DSN6 on 5/14/2011
DSN3 on 5/14/2011
DBSG(DS1G & DS2G) tentatively scheduled for 10/8/2011
Complex B –
DSNJ on 3/27/2011
DSNK on 4/17/2011
DSNL upgrade scheduled for 9/11/2011
This upgrade is considered Phase I of the upgrade to DB2 V9. Phase II to complete the upgrade to DB2 V9 will be to take the DB2 subsystems from V9 Conversion Mode to V9 New Function Mode.
The first of the Phase II upgrades is scheduled for DSN1(D11G & D12G) on 8/20/2011 beginning at 07:00 CT with RFC 100-03-821244. Phase II of the V9 upgrades will bring the DB2 subsystems to the full function capability of V9. It will also keep the DB2 subsystems at a supportable and current level.
The dates for the Phase II upgrades of the balance of the DB2 subsystems will be announced once they are negotiated and set.
